IV drip therapy, or intravenous therapy, is hydration which is a solution injected directly into a patient’s vein, consisting of normal saline and a combination of ingredients and possibly medications. In simpler terms IV therapy is hydration and nutrition. The length of treatment varies from person to person but typically can take anywhere between 30-60 minutes.

It is a good idea to have something light to eat before receiving an IV drip, in order to minimize any potential side effects. It’s also important to drink plenty water in the lead up to your appointment, to ease access to your blood vessels.
